As a foster family I/we agree to provide nutritious meals, fresh water, grooming, a safe environment, and appropriate shelter for this foster dog/cat. I will not leave my foster dog/cat tied up, especially when unattended. I will never leave my foster dog/cat unattended in a vehicle. I agree to arrange my family’s schedule so that the dog/cat is seldom left alone for more than eight hours at a stretch. I agree to play with, pet and give attention to my foster dog/cat when I am home. I agree to let TLC Animal Rescue (TLCAR) know immediately if there is any change in the health of the dog/cat and will get clearance before I get anything other than emergency care for my foster dog/cat. I will check my foster dog/cat regularly for any signs of illness. I will do frequent flea and tick checks on my foster dog/cat. I will not hit my foster dog/cat. I understand that animal trainers acknowledge that this is an ineffective way of changing bad behavior. I will seek to modify behavior by praising the behavior that I desire. I agree to consult TLCAR if I am experiencing any behavior difficulties with my foster dog/cat. I will closely supervise my foster dog/cat when around children (especially children, or adults, he/she is not familiar with). I will closely monitor my foster pet when near roadways or water, when riding in a vehicle (preferably the pet should be in a crate/carrier during car travel) and in any other situation which is potentially dangerous to my foster pet. I will have my foster pet wear an identification tag (preferably with a phone number) at all times. I agree to any home visits needed, as determined by TLCAR. I will relinquish the pet upon request. I understand that TLCAR does its best to evaluate an animal’s temperament and behavior. TLCAR is concerned about the health of the animals in its care and exercises due caution to prevent the transmission of diseases. Unless you are notified otherwise, the animals you foster will have been given preventive immunizations. However, because of the dire circumstances from which many of the rescue animals come, any animal may carry or could have already been exposed to an infectious disease, which may not be apparent for several days. TLCAR cannot warrant or guarantee the foster dog/cat is healthy or good-natured. Any animal has the potential to bite or cause injury. You have determined for yourself the animal is acceptable for you and your household to foster. Please initial. *

I release TLC Animal Rescue, Inc., its Board of Directors, volunteers, foster volunteers and representatives, and the veterinarian treating the animal at the request of TLC Animal Rescue, Inc., from any and all claims and actions, whether it’s for property damage caused by the animal(s) or for personal injury to me, family members, any other person and any other animal (including personal pets, livestock, or other animals) from biting, scratching, transmittal of disease, and/or any other matter attributable to said animal(s). I/we further agree to hold harmless TLC Animal Rescue, its board of directors, its officers, its volunteers, and any individuals associated with TLCAR and to indemnify such organizations or individuals for any damages or costs resulting from liability, known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, as a result of the dog's or cat’s conduct after the date of this Foster Agreement.
